Ibrom Building the Future of National Talent

The Cook Islands Football Association (CIFA) U13 Boys National Academy has officially commenced its journey this Monday at the CIFA Complex. With the noteworthy presence of Jess Ibrom, the National Academy Director, and supported by Youth Academy Staff Ingrid Kelly and Teahi Wuatai, 27 talented young players were eager to kick off this new and promising chapter in their football careers.

As part of FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme – “Give Every Talent a Chance” – the academy is focused on providing long-term development opportunities for youth football players in Cook Islands. This initiative aims at preparing and strengthening national teams for future international competitions, enabling them to be highly competitive on a global scale. The academy is committed to nurturing the skills and potential of these young athletes while maintaining a growth mindset towards developing excellence.

This week’s U13 Boys National Academy launch showcased an impressive array of football talent from across the nation, demonstrating the future potential of Cook Islands national teams. These promising players will now undergo a series of comprehensive training sessions with access to top-tier coaching and facilities, ensuring a solid foundation for their professional futures.

In addition to the U13 Boys program, CIFA is also gearing up for the commencement of the U13 Girls National Academy next week. Moreover, the second talent identification game for the U18 Men is scheduled for Tuesday, November 21st. Through fostering both boys’ and girls’ talent development programs, CIFA is actively investing in building strong and competitive national teams for years to come.

The successful launch of these academies serves as a testament to CIFA’s commitment towards talent development in Cook Islands. Offering young athletes across the country an invaluable opportunity to connect with exceptional coaching staff, access cutting-edge facilities, and hone their skills within a structured environment demonstrates CIFA’s continuous dedication towards strengthening football’s future prospects within Cook Islands.

As these academies progress, the Cook Islands community can look forward to witnessing the rise of new generations of nationally and internationally competitive players. By empowering them with the skills, experiences, and motivation to excel on the world stage, CIFA’s U13 Boys and Girls National Academies are planting the seeds for a successful and prosperous future in football.
